Secret Proclamation

It’s ironic that we take the truths of God and try to justify our disobedience by attempting to prove these truths as irrelevant. The evidence we attempt to use against these truths, if not so ridiculous, would be almost humorous.

Evidence Article 1-Situations- This idea of our situation dictating the relevancy of God’s commands to follow, to give, to pray and to love, to go or to refrain is idiocy at best. When disobedience seeks justification, it usually attacks the relevancy of the Truth.

Evidence Article 2-Logic- An all too popular weapons of choice for the skeptic, but also for the disobedient follower. I believe in an educated faith, but there must be a place where our ability to grasp ends and letting go begins (Hebrew 11:6). It made no sense for Peter to step out on the water when Jesus called out. It made no sense for Gideon to take on the Midianites with 300 men with jars, a torch, and a trumpet.

We do two things when we use our life as a filter for truth:
1) We (though never out loud) claim to be God, knowing what is best for the situation and acting out “logically”
2) We claim that God is no more than an out-of-touch consultant that might have a good idea every once in a while.

It is my prayer that if a secret proclamation has become our disease, God would remove such a deadly ailment to the soul.
